Our Story
As well as its magazine, Mslexia publishes the famous Indie Press Guide (our unique directory of independent book publishers and literary magazines) a range of compact Mslexia Minis writing guides, and our brand-new Diary & Planner – designed by writers for writers. We also run a busy events programme of writing surgeries, workshops and interviews – in real life and online for women who have paid to become members of the Mslexia Salon.
You can buy any or all of these items here in our Shop, where you’ll also find details of how to donate to one of our initiatives to support low-income and marginalised women writers.
Opening hours
You can buy from our Shop at any time, day or night, but if you want to discuss a purchase with a real-life (and really nice) human person, please call 0191 204 8860 during our office hours, which are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Face-to-face and screen-to-screen contact with our team and guest experts Sometimes simply reading about creativity and publishing is not quite enough, and you crave feedback on your writing and actual contact with those in the know. That's where our events programme comes in. Mslexia has been touring the UK with our Arts Council England funded Mslexia Roadshows for 20 years, and have been hosting surgeries and Q&As in the Mslexia Salon since 2016. In 2019 we launched the first Mslexicon women's writing weekend at the historic Devonshire Hall in Leeds. And in 2022 we launched Women's Writing Weeks, an online week-long course designed to help you make progress on your writing.
